Nothing you did disappears
When a role ends, the badge doesn't vanish — it moves to your history with the dates on it. Somebody who ran the Paris chapter for two years should still be able to point at that in five years.

Held previously is not a demotion. It reads as a record of service, and it's the part most communities lose entirely. On the job board these show the same way — a company sees eighteen months chairing Events Management, with dates, verified by the board.
What happens when a role ends
1
Someone new takes the chapter
GLOBAL CHAPTERS CHAIR GRANTS THE BADGE TO THE NEW LEAD
2
The outgoing lead's badge is archived, not revoked
END DATE IS SET · BADGE MOVES TO "HELD PREVIOUSLY"
3
Their grant authority stops the same day
THEY CAN NO LONGER GRANT CHAPTER BADGES · CAN STILL NOMINATE
4
Everything they granted stays valid
GRANTS DON'T UNWIND WHEN THE GRANTOR STEPS DOWN
